About This Place

Located in the heart of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Taboo Grill Gourmet Burgers and Ice Cream is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic American comfort food with a gourmet twist. Specializing in hearty, handcrafted burgers, flavorful sandwiches, and indulgent ice cream treats, this local gem impresses with both its menu variety and inviting atmosphere.

The star of Taboo Grill's menu is undoubtedly their burgers, where quality and creativity come together in every bite. For those with a hearty appetite, the Quad Fair Dinkum stands out as a true challenge and delight—four half-pound patties layered with eight pieces of melted cheese, delivering a juicy, cheesy explosion that's nothing short of extraordinary. If you prefer something more manageable but equally satisfying, the Big Chief offers two quarter-pound patties topped with cheese, tangy pickles, fresh lettuce, and a savory dressing, all nestled inside a toasted onion Kaiser bun that adds just the right touch of crunch.

Not just burgers, Taboo Grill expands its American fare with unique offerings like the Crab Dog and Octo Dog, featuring fresh, locally caught seafood, as well as classic Nathan's 100% all-beef hot dogs including the beloved Chicago Dog. Seasonal specials like the authentic St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef Plate show the restaurant’s commitment to celebrating real, homemade flavors rather than gimmicks. And don’t miss their quirky twist on shakes — the Mtn Dew Shake blends creamy vanilla ice cream with Mountain Dew for a surprising and delicious treat.

Customers rave about Taboo Grill's fast, friendly service and welcoming vibe. Ashley Wilkins shared how delighted she was not only by the hot, freshly prepared food but also by the rare find of Pepsi products served alongside crispy fries and Mountain Dew. Michael Orndorff praises the convenience of calling ahead for takeout and the perfect balance of taste and price, while Don Plata emphasizes how the restaurant pleased a diverse group with a variety of options and fresh, hot fries that “beat any fries they’ve ever had.” Lucas Myers highlights the friendly staff, spotless environment, and outdoor seating—a perfect setting to savor one of the best burgers he’s had in a long time. Jason Steckel sums it up with appreciation for the delicious burgers and shakes, coupled with the quaint, fun vibe that makes dining here a welcoming experience.

Whether you’re looking for a satisfying meal after a day exploring the lake area or craving a comforting treat with friends and family, Taboo Grill Gourmet Burgers and Ice Cream stands out as a top local destination for genuinely delicious American fare. Its combination of bold flavors, quality ingredients, and genuine hospitality creates an experience that’s deeply satisfying and truly memorable.

Tried this burger shop today for lunch and it was so yummy! I got my food within a few minutes (I happened to be the first customer of the day), and it was hot and delicious. Crispy fries and Mountain Dew!! It’s hard to find places with Pepsi products so when I find one I get excited!

Very friendly, my double cheese burger, add hashbrown, was good along with the fries. My wife's french dip and fries was "pretty good" in her words. I called ahead for take out and it was ready by the time I arrived. 4 stars for the price, 5 stars for the taste.

We wanted a local place with delicious food while we were in town. We are hard to please with 6 of us. They made everyone of us very happy! From hamburger, chicken sandwiches, and hotdogs there was lots of variety for everyone in our group to find something . We all thought our food was delicious. All six of us got fresh hot food! We have never had fries that were more fresh. The service was fantastic! Our server that served everyone inside and out was a rockstar! We are so glad we found Taboo! Thank you!

Very friendly staff, clean store. Outdoor seating available. The food is probably the best I have had in a long long time. Original burgers and they dont skimp on the good stuff.

My sister has a place down here and treated us to this place. It’s so good and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The waitress saw my daughter was unsure of the menu (she’s incredibly picky) and talked to her and got her excited about the octodog! My daughter was super excited to try and ended up loving it. Our burgers were cooked perfectly and tasted great. So were the fries! It was just the right amount of food. We ended up getting ice cream too and again, the waitress talked to my daughter and decided on the cotton candy milkshake. Another winner for our picky eater. We ate our ice cream outside but took our food to go (only because we had groceries to take home). 10/10 great place to go!

Been here over 2 dozen times and have tried almost everything on the menu. Have yet to taste anything that wasn't 4.5 stars or better. Highly recommend them!
